call me crazy, but maybe you were *destined* for youtube (?!)

hi, i'm mandy, i have 65,000 subscribers and i'm going to share some real tips on how i got here. if you are relatively new and have 1k, 5k, or 10k subscribers, i think this breakdown will be super helpful for you.

today we're going to talk about the 3 phases of the youtube journey (at least, the ones i've seen so far):

1. experimentation: no one knows you are, but that's okay because you're trying things out to see what you like. you're building the key skills like talking to the camera, learning how to structure a video, figuring out what you like. this is time to play!

2. growth: you're hitting milestones! people are responding to your content and your channel is growing!

3. focus: you go into a dark night of the soul and have a plateau or a "what am i doing" moment, forcing you to reckon with yourself and dig deeper than you ever have before.
