House leaders sent lawmakers home early, delaying Congressman Thomas Massie’s effort to impeach War Secretary Pete Hegseth until after the midterms. Three people were killed when a television news helicopter crashed in Los Angeles, leaving an NBC4 newsroom to realize on the air that its own colleagues were among the victims. A federal judge referred Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner and top deputy Matthew Stiegler to the Justice Department over their alleged conduct during a convicted murderer’s appeal. Kennedy heir Jack Schlossberg reportedly has disappeared from the public and escaped to Martha’s Vineyard after finishing a distant third in his first congressional campaign.
