The Shadow - "The Chill of Death" (Old Time Radio)

The Shadow presents “The Chill of Death,” originally broadcast January 4, 1948. Commonly cataloged as episode 429, this preserved Mutual Broadcasting System broadcast was sponsored by Blue Coal and written by Louis Vittes. Bret Morrison stars as Lamont Cranston, with Grace Matthews as Margo Lane.

When an insurance executive detects a troubling pattern involving the deaths of maids employed by the Baileys, Lamont and Margo begin to investigate. To get closer to the truth, Margo takes a dangerous undercover job in the household as the Baileys’ new maid, Margaret Flynn.

The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
