Episode 120: Depression Was Hard. Thinking God Was Disappointed in Me Was Harder (featuring Charlé Barkey)

Instead of running to Jesus, you found yourself pulling away because you thought you needed to get better first.</p><p>This week, I&#39;m joined by wellness educator, speaker, and coach Charlé Barkey for one of the most honest conversations we&#39;ve had on the podcast. Charlé vulnerably shares how God met her in one of the darkest seasons of her life and gently reminded her that shame never gets the final say.</p><p>As our conversation unfolds, we talk about what it means to steward the bodies God has given us, create space to hear His voice, and trust that He is always inviting us back into relationship with Him.</p><p>One of my favorite moments in the episode came from Genesis 9:3:</p><p><em>&quot;Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.&quot;</em> (Genesis 9:3)</p><p>It&#39;s a beautiful reminder that from the very beginning, God cared about how we nourish and care for the bodies He entrusted to us.
